I created these test version of the Disneyland entry way plaque. One is laser cut and engraved while the other was 3D printed.
The 3D printed one was cool but took longer to make and the way I did it with the separate letters meant I had to glue them all on as well. But it made for a better print not having them all printed on the base at the same time.
I love the look of the laser engraved version and I now sell these in my shops. The one drawback on these is that it all depends on the wood grain as that can change the look of the background drastically. Also the laser tends to leave a bit of a warp in the wood from the heat during engraving. But its fine and can still be stuck to a wall using 3M Commands strips.
